So if you're like me, you are obsessed with Friends. Now I will admit that I was late to the Friends game and it took a while for my friend Stephen to convince me to start it. But once I did, I was fully sucked into it from the jump! So when I saw this shirt in Primark, I had to grab it. Aside from how adorable it is, it was only 8 pounds so it was a total bargain. This whole outfit was built around this shirt and I love it. It is a casual look, but I am a big fan of how it turned out! Also, shout out to Brighton for planting new spring flowers and installing this art so that I could have beautiful backdrops for this shoot! Let's get into the outfit! So as previously mentioned, I grabbed this shirt at my local Primark. The little separation dots are pom poms and I love that little detail. I think that it adds awesome texture to the shirt and is just so fun! I paired the shirt with my new favorite jeans. I talked about these jeans in my last post about spring and summer trends. If you want more information on why I love them, go check that out. I love the wash and I think they were a great pairing for this outfit with the distressed hem! On my feet I've got my favorite trainers. These are Adidas NMD's with Gum Soles. They're pricey but I got a great Black Friday deal on them and had been eyeing them for a while. Super comfy and I think they work great with so many outfits. Athleisure is such popular look right now and these are definitely perfect for that style of clothing. I will apologize in advance that they're dirty, and frankly they do need a clean, but it is super hard to wear white anything with the British weather! They're great to slip on and run errands in or have a little brunch date with a friend, which is exactly what I did this morning. And shoutout to my girl Ranti (@akurebabe) for being my stellar photographer today. Now a trick that I frequently employ is to rock a hat when your hair is too dirty. Well, todays hat of choice is my new red beret that I got in Paris with my momma a couple of weeks back. And I am hoping to get a travel post up on that soon so watch out for it! I love the red because it goes with my favorite lip color, red of course, and it picks up the color of some of the dots in the shirt. The lippie I am wearing today is MAC Russian Red in their Matte formula. I talked about this and a couple other colors in my last post so check that out. If you want a lipstick collection post let me know and I will make that happen for sure! To finish the look off with accessories I grabbed my black belt. I chose a black belt because the text on the shirt is black and I love to coordinate in little ways like that. Then I grabbed my favorite watch. I've talked many times about this watch and why I love it so I promise if you check a couple posts back theres more info on it if that's your cup of tea. Finally, even though it was cloudy, I had my HM RayBan replica's with me just in case. Not only are sunglasses great for their intended purpose, but they're great finishing pieces even if their only use is to hang on the neckline of your t-shirt. I will say though, they came in handy when the sun appeared later in the day! And thats the look for today babes! I love ya and I am so thankful to those of you who consistently come back. I am trying to work really hard on the blog and on my instagram so if you don't follow yet, go check my feed out @taybeth1 and leave me some love! If you read this post, go comment red, yellow, and blue emoji's on my insta post of this look! Much love Truly, Taylor What I am Wearing:

Hi friends! Today I wanted to showcase some of my current favorite trends for the upcoming warmer seasons! The trends I am going to show are sunglasses, berets, cute denim crops, colored lips, and scarves! SunglassesSo I am a huge fan of sunglasses as an accessory! I think they are one of the easiest things to spice up an outfit! Spring and summer usually involve lots of the sun, so they're practical accessories too! I love when I can find a piece that satisfies my stylistic dreams as well as protect my eyes! I keep my round pair from Urban Outfitters on me pretty much all the time! They are classic, a great neutral, and look identical to Ray Bans at a fraction of the price! Lord knows I break or loose sunglasses too frequently to pay too much for them! Secondly, I recently picked up these adorable peach cat eyes at a boutique in Brighton. I saw them in the window and thought they would be sun a fun and quirky addition to my wardrobe! Going with some colored glasses adds a nice pop to any outfit! I got this style cue from Emma Chamberlain and I am very glad I took her advice. Here are some of my top pics to get these looks for cheap! I have loved berets for nearly 2 years now ever since my dad brought me one on a Parisian business trip. So, when I went to Paris a couple of weeks ago with my momma, I decided to pick up a couple more colors for myself. Berets are great because they can be found so inexpensively in many different colors and with or without embellishments. I think that everyone can pull one off and they can add so much so a simple outfit or add a new level of chic to a more dressed up outfit. I picked these up in France as I said, but I will link some inexpensive ones below! - F21 Patterned: https://goo.gl/1Lhvrh - F21 Black "Leather": https://goo.gl/skmCaZ - New Look Red Felt: https://goo.gl/cA3ovu - New Look Pink Felt: https://goo.gl/3WsDwR Cropped DenimFor spring and summer Light wash denim is an absolute must. But, more than that, I have lately been loving a good pair of cropped denim. I have always pegged or cuffed my jeans but after attending a Sheer Luxe event recently, I was shown some ways to rock a cropped look without having to cuff a longer pair. I think that a nice quality crop add a chic edge to an overall casual and comfortable look. I scored this pair of Joe's Jeans at an amazing price at TK Maxx (TJ Maxx)! Regularly $198, I got them for less than $65. They are a pricey brand but I had the chance to visit their showroom in NY last May and can attest to their quality! I love this pair because I have never seen such a unique hemline. I love the raw edge and the wash change paired with the overlaying stiching! This particular pair is on sale, and I will find some other cropped pairs that I love! - Joe's Jeans: https://goo.gl/itM19u - Joe's Jeans Dupe: https://goo.gl/4yN9ru - F21 Distressed Crop: https://goo.gl/33XGj9 - High Waisted Skinny's that come in Many Washes: https://goo.gl/NbVZBw Colored LipsSo for anyone who has been around for a while, y'all already know I am a huge lover of colored lips! My all time favorite is a good, classic red. For spring I love to have a good nude in my arsenal. I do love pinks as well, but for some reason can not find any pictures of me in my favorite pinks! I will try to find and link them anyways! Adding a pop of color in the lip is a great statement! I love matching my lip color to even a small accent of my outfit to really bring it out! By adding color in this way, you can fully embrace the new blooms of warmer weather! Whilst in Paris, I found this amazing scarf in the Eiffel Tower gift shop at the top! I had to have it and I loved the pastel blue to go along with spring and my favorite color! I saw this head-scarf trend all over Coachella this past weekend and I had to give it a go even though I was not festival bound. A silk scarf can be worn so many ways and are a great option for adding in texture and print to a look! Try a head wrap like this, a neck tie, a headband, etc... the creativity continues! I am still trying to figure out new ways to wear this but I wanted to slip in it at the end because I was feeling this look so much! I tried to find this scarf online but had no luck! I will link a couple inexpensive ones from some accessible stores! - F21 Polka Dot: https://goo.gl/1uixs7 - F21 Color Block: https://goo.gl/rwmwha - HM Tropical: https://goo.gl/cSPCuk And that is what I have for y'all today! I hope this has been helpful and I hope it inspires you to Live Colorfully (as Kate Spade would say) this spring and summer! Tag me on Instagram (@taybeth1) if you try any of these trends!
Much love to you all! Truly, Taylor So I wanted to try something new on the blog. I talk a lot about my outfits and why I wear them, but I wanted to try doing a post where I share some of the things that are in my want list for Spring and Summer! I thought I would start by adding shoes. This first round is going to be shoes from DSW. I am a former DSW employee, so when I am looking for shoe inspiration I always turn to them. The price range can some times be a bit steep, I mean I am a college student, but they do deals a lot and have one of the best rewards membership programs of any retailer I have come across. This spring pastels, colors, and patterns are very in. Mules are also making a huge comeback! I was really into some of the cute colored stuff they had coming in. Most of my trend suggestions are heels because I am really trying to get into wearing heels more often. There are also some flats and espadrilles thrown in there! I am also looking to add more workwear into my daily life so I was really in to many of the heels coming in. I am looking for specific items that will be reflected in this current shopping bag of mine. Those include: black wedge sandals, brown wedge sandals, flat espadrilles, brown sandals, black sandals, work-wear heels and mules. I will link the shoes so that if you are as in love with them as I am, you can pop over and buy! If you click on the photo it should take you to a new page where you can shop them! Here's a tip: if you sign up as a new member with DSW, after you make your first purchase they will send you a $10 off reward. So grab a pair of socks and wait for your reward to come in before purchasing your shoes. They also do a $5 off for your birthday month! I hope that you enjoyed these suggestions and this new type of post. I wish I could buy all of these but I do not have $400 nor do I have any room in my closet. I am hoping to be able to pick up a few pairs at least to round out my summer wardrobe.
Thank you for reading! Happy shopping! Truly, Taylor As many of you will know, I have been living in England for the past 7-ish months. I have been here since September and I often find it difficult to integrate my over-excited and animated American personality with the muted demeanor of the Brits. When I am feeling especially out of place, I head to the American Diner in my town's seafront and truly feel at home in this overly stereotypically, but admittedly accurate, American diner. In an effort to update and elevate my wardrobe, I recently purchased this gingham, bell-sleeve shirt from a little shop in the lanes of Brighton. I absolutely love it and I think it can elevate a simple pair of jeans and add a dynamic to any outfit. Black and white allows this shirt to be worn in so many ways and I am confident that you could rock it with a skirt just as well as some well-loved denim. I paired this top with my dark wash Calvin Klein jeans. I almost always peg the ends of my jeans to taper them in, a trick taught to me by my parentals. According to them this was all the range in the 80's, and I guess I have pretty much fully adopted it now. On my feet I have got my favorite pair of high-top converse. These are special because I purchased them in the Converse store in San Fransisco on a road trip with my siblings before I moved to the UK. They are custom and I chose a diamond print with the moniker "Queen T" printed underneath. I chose a navy-toned Gray and I love these because they go with so much and were definitely worth the money to have an entirely unique and custom pair of kicks! On my lips, I have my all time favorite Matte Red. It is Russian Red from Mac Cosmetics and it is my go-to for this classic lip hue! I felt like this diner deserved a red lip and I love bold lipsticks because they are fun and unique and add color into any outfit! Tay's Tip: If you have a singing commitment, wear a bold lip because then people will be able to see your mouth moving! If you guys would be interested in a lipstick collection post, let me know and I would love to do it! Comment on any of my latest Instagram (taybeth1) posts to let me know and I will make it happen! A bonus picture of me eating my ALL TIME favorite food, French fries, and thinking how much validity the phrase "Fries Before Guys" really has in my life! In case anyone was wondering, I am looking so longingly at the Mint Chip Milkshake and truly feeling in love! What can I say, as a single gal I find love in good food!
I hope you guys like this quick outfit post and are digging the retro-realness of this patriotic place as much as I do! As much as I love this little escape to add a little more yankee into my life, I will be glad to be back in the land of the free in a couple of months! Until next time! Truly, Taylor Some may tell you that scarves are reserved for fall and winter, that is to say thick scarves. I may would have agreed a little while ago because I had not yet found a thick scarf that I felt like could help me transition the seasons. I was eager to find one as it is very cold in Europe still. In fact, it snowed in Brighton today! YIKES! I was wandering around the Albert Cuyp Market trying to help my friend Katie find a scarf. Her search was ultimately unsuccessful, but I left with this scarf and headband combo. I love this scarf because it combines warmth and practicality with spring pastels. The colors in this scarf are the PERFECT thing to get you into spring while still keeping you warm. I was also so excited to pick up this headband which I think perfectly picks up the pink in the scarf while keeping my ears warm. I paired this scarf with some dark wash jeans. For winter, I like dark wash because it fits in well with the chill, but you could easily transition this outfit into spring with some light wash, or maybe even white, denim. I layered with a black, chunky-knit sweater from Gap and chucked on my Jessica Simpson white windbreaker. I use this jacket as my go-to because it is compact, easy to throw on with anything and helps to keep you warm outside but won't burn you up inside when you step into shops or anything. If you have been following me for a while, although lets be real you don't need a lot of history with me to know this fact about me, you will know that Tiffany Blue is my absolute obsession. I am also a big fan of Chuck Taylor Converse. I love Converse sneakers because they are such a classic and they are easy to chuck on (get it, chuck... chuck on). They are also pretty comfortable for me and I can spend a whole day exploring a city in them without excruciating foot pain. When I found these Tiffany Blue high tops in TJ Maxx I knew I had to have them. This color ties in with the muted blue in the scarf and helps to brighten the whole outfit. I finished off the look with one of favorite crossbodies that I have had for forever. It is from a brand called "Chocolate New York" and I have tried to shop the brand but can not find the brand anywhere online for the life of me. I love the bow and the color because I feel like it can be worn in any season! It was the perfect companion to hold my phone, chargers, etc. and walk around the city without a bulky bag!
And that is that, I hope you enjoyed this shorter outfit post and I hope you are inspired for spring! I would love to be inspired by y'all and see your spring wardrobes so tag me on instagram and use the hashtag #trutaystyle so that I can see your looks! Truly, Taylor |
