So I wanted to try something new on the blog. I talk a lot about my outfits and why I wear them, but I wanted to try doing a post where I share some of the things that are in my want list for Spring and Summer! I thought I would start by adding shoes. This first round is going to be shoes from DSW. I am a former DSW employee, so when I am looking for shoe inspiration I always turn to them. The price range can some times be a bit steep, I mean I am a college student, but they do deals a lot and have one of the best rewards membership programs of any retailer I have come across. This spring pastels, colors, and patterns are very in. Mules are also making a huge comeback! I was really into some of the cute colored stuff they had coming in. Most of my trend suggestions are heels because I am really trying to get into wearing heels more often. There are also some flats and espadrilles thrown in there! I am also looking to add more workwear into my daily life so I was really in to many of the heels coming in. I am looking for specific items that will be reflected in this current shopping bag of mine. Those include: black wedge sandals, brown wedge sandals, flat espadrilles, brown sandals, black sandals, work-wear heels and mules. I will link the shoes so that if you are as in love with them as I am, you can pop over and buy! If you click on the photo it should take you to a new page where you can shop them! Here's a tip: if you sign up as a new member with DSW, after you make your first purchase they will send you a $10 off reward. So grab a pair of socks and wait for your reward to come in before purchasing your shoes. They also do a $5 off for your birthday month! I hope that you enjoyed these suggestions and this new type of post. I wish I could buy all of these but I do not have $400 nor do I have any room in my closet. I am hoping to be able to pick up a few pairs at least to round out my summer wardrobe.
Thank you for reading! Happy shopping! Truly, Taylor

As many of you will know, I have been living in England for the past 7-ish months. I have been here since September and I often find it difficult to integrate my over-excited and animated American personality with the muted demeanor of the Brits. When I am feeling especially out of place, I head to the American Diner in my town's seafront and truly feel at home in this overly stereotypically, but admittedly accurate, American diner. In an effort to update and elevate my wardrobe, I recently purchased this gingham, bell-sleeve shirt from a little shop in the lanes of Brighton. I absolutely love it and I think it can elevate a simple pair of jeans and add a dynamic to any outfit. Black and white allows this shirt to be worn in so many ways and I am confident that you could rock it with a skirt just as well as some well-loved denim. I paired this top with my dark wash Calvin Klein jeans. I almost always peg the ends of my jeans to taper them in, a trick taught to me by my parentals. According to them this was all the range in the 80's, and I guess I have pretty much fully adopted it now. On my feet I have got my favorite pair of high-top converse. These are special because I purchased them in the Converse store in San Fransisco on a road trip with my siblings before I moved to the UK. They are custom and I chose a diamond print with the moniker "Queen T" printed underneath. I chose a navy-toned Gray and I love these because they go with so much and were definitely worth the money to have an entirely unique and custom pair of kicks! On my lips, I have my all time favorite Matte Red. It is Russian Red from Mac Cosmetics and it is my go-to for this classic lip hue! I felt like this diner deserved a red lip and I love bold lipsticks because they are fun and unique and add color into any outfit! Tay's Tip: If you have a singing commitment, wear a bold lip because then people will be able to see your mouth moving! If you guys would be interested in a lipstick collection post, let me know and I would love to do it! Comment on any of my latest Instagram (taybeth1) posts to let me know and I will make it happen! A bonus picture of me eating my ALL TIME favorite food, French fries, and thinking how much validity the phrase "Fries Before Guys" really has in my life! In case anyone was wondering, I am looking so longingly at the Mint Chip Milkshake and truly feeling in love! What can I say, as a single gal I find love in good food!
I hope you guys like this quick outfit post and are digging the retro-realness of this patriotic place as much as I do! As much as I love this little escape to add a little more yankee into my life, I will be glad to be back in the land of the free in a couple of months! Until next time! Truly, Taylor Some may tell you that scarves are reserved for fall and winter, that is to say thick scarves. I may would have agreed a little while ago because I had not yet found a thick scarf that I felt like could help me transition the seasons. I was eager to find one as it is very cold in Europe still. In fact, it snowed in Brighton today! YIKES! I was wandering around the Albert Cuyp Market trying to help my friend Katie find a scarf. Her search was ultimately unsuccessful, but I left with this scarf and headband combo. I love this scarf because it combines warmth and practicality with spring pastels. The colors in this scarf are the PERFECT thing to get you into spring while still keeping you warm. I was also so excited to pick up this headband which I think perfectly picks up the pink in the scarf while keeping my ears warm. I paired this scarf with some dark wash jeans. For winter, I like dark wash because it fits in well with the chill, but you could easily transition this outfit into spring with some light wash, or maybe even white, denim. I layered with a black, chunky-knit sweater from Gap and chucked on my Jessica Simpson white windbreaker. I use this jacket as my go-to because it is compact, easy to throw on with anything and helps to keep you warm outside but won't burn you up inside when you step into shops or anything. If you have been following me for a while, although lets be real you don't need a lot of history with me to know this fact about me, you will know that Tiffany Blue is my absolute obsession. I am also a big fan of Chuck Taylor Converse. I love Converse sneakers because they are such a classic and they are easy to chuck on (get it, chuck... chuck on). They are also pretty comfortable for me and I can spend a whole day exploring a city in them without excruciating foot pain. When I found these Tiffany Blue high tops in TJ Maxx I knew I had to have them. This color ties in with the muted blue in the scarf and helps to brighten the whole outfit. I finished off the look with one of favorite crossbodies that I have had for forever. It is from a brand called "Chocolate New York" and I have tried to shop the brand but can not find the brand anywhere online for the life of me. I love the bow and the color because I feel like it can be worn in any season! It was the perfect companion to hold my phone, chargers, etc. and walk around the city without a bulky bag!
And that is that, I hope you enjoyed this shorter outfit post and I hope you are inspired for spring! I would love to be inspired by y'all and see your spring wardrobes so tag me on instagram and use the hashtag #trutaystyle so that I can see your looks! Truly, Taylor Hello friends! It is so good to be back on here posting for y'all! If you have been following me on my lifestyle page, youtube, or instagram (taybeth1) then you probably know that December and January were two really rough months for me. In brief, I was very homesick, lonely, and depressed and in turn lost all of my motivation and inspiration to do any of the things that I typically love. This blog is a main part of that. I started this blog years ago as a passion project because I love to write and I love to share my style with y'all. So, I am terribly sorry for my absence but I am feeling so much better and I am pleased to say that I have gotten my mojo back! Today's blogpost is going to be the first of many dedicated to my trip in Amsterdam! I recently took a weekend trip to Amsterdam with my friend Katie and I can honestly say that city is one of the most picturesque places I have ever been. Every street you turned down and every cafe you passed looked like it came straight out of Pinterest! Without further ado, enjoy my first post back! Please share it with your friends if you like it, follow me on instagram for a more daily update on my life, and let me know if there is anything you specifically want to see me style/create! For our first day exploring, I wanted to be cute but practical. I knew that it was going to be very cold and windy in Amsterdam so I relied on my layering skills! What you can't see is the leggings I am wearing under these "leather" ones and the long sleeve tee under my sweater and coat. Also not pictured are gloves because my hands were like ice cubes! In today's outfit I experimented with something that I usually steer clear of. I will go on record saying that I usually subscribe to the rule of not mixing black and navy. However, this is a big trend right now and I am starting to reconsider this thought. I have seen some of my favorite bloggers, like @somethingnavy, work with this mixture and she pulls it off so well. I wanted to give it a try myself. I started with my navy peacoat. I think a peacoat is the perfect middle ground for style and practicality. I love this one because I feel that it is the perfect length and is so easy to throw on. This one also has a detachable black fur collar. I usually go without but I decided to attach it for this outfit to tie into the black leggings. If you have ever been shopping with me, you will know that I have been on the hunt for "leather" pants for a very long time. This want has been even more inspired by a new favorite influencer of mine, @lydiaemillen. She loves leather leggings because they add a level of chic-ness to an outfit that is relatively simple and I wholeheartedly agree! When I saw these on sale for less than 5 pounds, I knew I had to grab them! On top of the leggings, I threw on my light gray oversized, turtleneck sweater. I picked this up at Urban Outfitters years ago during their 50% off clearance sale. It is very warm and I love that it is oversized because it can help to cover your backside when wearing leggings. I wanted to add a lighter color into this overall dark outfit and I think that light gray was the perfect way to do that! Now for accessories I actually decided to wear some jewelry today. If you didn't know, I am actually allergic to cheap metals and have a really hard time with jewelry. Rather than finding and spending money on high quality baubles, I have given in to laziness and for the most part choose not to wear anything. Today I wanted to be dressed head to tow so I grabbed some of my favorite simple pieces to add to this winter look. I went for a gold/rose gold palette today. As per usual, I am wearing my Michael Kors "Watch Hunger Stop" watch. I love the meaning behind this and come on, it's just really pretty! Next I popped on my Origami Owl bracelet. This was a birthday gift and I love how simple but personal it is. If you are unfamiliar with Origami Owl, it is a cool company where you can buy personalized charms to completely customize your jewelry. hen I threw on some rings. The bow is a Kate Spade ring that was gifted to me a few years ago. I love it and especially love how the bow ties into my bag. I also have on a simple midi ring. This thing is so old that I could not tell you where it is from even if I tried. This style is really easy to find though so I will try to link similar ones below. Lastly, I have on my great grandmothers ring. This is a family heirloom that means so much to me. Also, the blue stone perfectly coordinates with my navy coat. And as per usual, we end on my feet which are covered today by some simple black booties. I got these nearly 5 years ago at Target. In all honesty, they were purchased to wear to the One Direction concert in 2014 because they reminded me of the boots Harry was in to wearing at the time. Please excuse my cringy fan persona. I loved this outfit because it is very simple yet classy and it kept me warm all day while I was exploring this stunning city. So excited to be back on here with you guys and I hope you are excited that I am back as well. Love you all and I so appreciate all of you who read all of my posts and bear with me when life gets rough. Remember to follow me on Instagram for more often posts and I will see you next time!
