Good Morning everyone and a very happy Thursday to you! I hope you are all well and if you're in Phoenix I hope you are staying cool. If indeed you are looking for some cool refuge from our triple digit temperatures, I may have just the escape you are looking for! My siblings and I decided to venture into old town Scottsdale the other night to try a new ice cream place. The place we went it is called Creamistry and it is most definitely not your ordinary scoop. I would describe Creamistry as more of an ice cream experience than a restaurant. The basics of Creamistry are this: you come in and pick a base and flavors and toppings. Then you can watch as they mix your ingredients with Nitrogen to freeze it and make it the texture of the dairy product we all know and love. As the nitrogen is put in the smoke pours out of the mixture and you can stand by the glass to watch the cool reaction, get it, cool, because it's cold! My creation was espresso coffee with Heath bar mixed in and I loved it! When it comes to the actual ice cream there is nothing phenomenally better about it than what you could get anywhere else. But it is good ice cream and it's a fun experience so my advice: if you can make it down to Scottsdale Arizona give it a try! Left to Right: Coffee and Heath, Peanut Butter Cup and Heath, Cake Batter with Sprinkles. And I can vouch that they are all very tasty! If you do make it down to try it out, let me know what you think and what flavors you tried! Happy eating!

Recently I was asked by a friend to do post on my Prom experience. At first, I thought that this was a very interesting request and I was not totally sure how to do it. Yet as I talked with her more about her curiosities, I got more excited and figured that I would write the post. I just graduated high school and culminated my senior year. Now I did not go to my Prom my junior year because I had the SAT the next day so I decided early on that I would go this year no matter what. So of course I decided that this was going to be my year. Now when it comes to prom I feel that there are a few mistakes that pretty much all of us girls can tend to make! Mistake Number 1Spending an arm and a leg on a dress that you will wear once. Let's be real, how many uses are you going to get out of your dress; one! (Maybe two if you're lucky). My advice is to find a more cost effective dress that you will love just as much. The dress I wore to a friends prom my junior year I got from TJ Maxx for $50 and it was Ralph Lauren. Great brand and even better price and I loved it! I even got to wear it at least three more times for church events and a work cruise for my Dad. To me, that was an amazing purchase. This year I ended up wearing a beautiful, vintage looking dress that my mom got at a thrift store for $10! Unbelievable right? Well it is indeed true. I suggest looking around at thrift stores and places like Marshalls and TJ Maxx and find a dress that you love without spending a ridiculous amount on it. Mistake Number 2Getting worked up about being asked. Trust me I totally understand wanting to be asked and waiting for it to happen. But i will let you in on a little secret... It really is not that big of a deal! I was in that boat and was hoping and focusing on it and it just need up being a let down and a big waste of time and energy. But never fear! I know for certain that prom can be an amazing time and night without having to have the guy you like ask you. I ended up going with a good friend and I had amazing time! It was honestly such a fun night and I was not worried about needing to impress and focus all my energy on him. My advice is to focus on having fun as opposed to who you're going to have fun with! This is my amazing friend Luke who doubled as my stellar date and I had an amazing time! Mistake Number 3Letting changed plans and other people steal your joy. When it comes to prom there is a huge area for error, believe me, as a part of Prom committee, there are so many things that can go awry behind the scenes. Whether it be picture location, seating arrangement or a stain on your dress, please do not let that steal the joy of the night from you! I promise it is never as big a deal as it seems and it will all work out exactly as it's supposed to! My last piece of advice would be to have fun and let prom be one of the best parts of high school! Dance your heart out and go crazy on the dance floor and make fun, friend-filled memories to last! Now as far as my prom look goes: My dress was one that my mom found a few years back at a thrift store. I really love vintage looking things and immediately fell in love with the Hepburn-esque feel of this dress. My earrings I picked up the day before prom at Charming Charlie. If you don't have a Charming Charlie in your town then I feel badly for you! It is absolutely the best place to go for accessories if you need to match something specific. My shoes were my absolute favorite part of my outfit! They are Betsey Johnson that I got at DSW (Claps for that work discount am I right!),have tiffany blue soles, and are totally covered in silver rhinestones! My hair comb I actually found in the hair section at the Fry's grocery store. And on my lips I am sporting the Minnie Mouse red lipstick from Sephora! A girl can never go wrong with a good ole red! And of course I could not have forgotten my Tiffany Blue HydroFlask to keep me cool in the Arizona desert while taking pictures! Thank you so much to Steph Georgiou for the great idea! I love you all so much and appreciate your constant support! I've created a Twitter and Instagram for trulyTaylored and I would appreciate it if you went over and showed them some love! They can both be found: @trutaylored.
And don't forget to sign up for my newsletter so you don't miss a post! Truly, Taylor Hello friends! I know it has been a while. There are many reasons for my long absence; finishing my high school career and graduating, working a lot, and trying to make this new site! I changed my website for a number of reasons. First being, I was paying for the other site and it was becoming too expensive. Second, there was no way to subscribe for updates which i felt was inconvenient. Third, I am no longer going to blog strictly about fashion. I want this to be a lifestyle blog where I can post recipes, workouts, style and life updates! I hope you like the updated content. I am so happy to re-launch my blog and I hope that it will be even better and more user friendly going forward! For my first "post" back I am going to share some pictures from my California trip that I took last week with my sweet friend Sara, also known as S. We started in San diego where we went to our favorite local burrito place. Its a hole in the wall place and when I say hole in the wall, I mean it! After stopping by Mission Beach we drove over the bridge to Coronado island where we surprised some friends and unexpectedly ran in to some others! We had a great time at the beach and did some shopping and theatre going that night. Day two brought us to a locally loved coffee shop called Better Buzz Coffee. We were hooked and could instantly see why this place was so talked up. It was adorable and the coffee was good too! We then found our way to La Jolla, famously known for seal beach, where we met up with our friends from the day before. That night we got dinner and Baked Bear with friends. We went shopping so of course we had to wear our new finds. We were then snug as bugs in our matching PJ's and hit up better buzz again before our drive home. I had such a fun time and I am so happy to be back blogging. Thank you to those who have followed me and welcome to those who are new to my friend group!
